Research topics
My research topics focus on complex problem solving in the field of IHS, and more specifically on the study of cognitive processes and strategies involved in information searching on the Internet (IS). I'm interested in several variables that impact this activity:
- the role of cognitive aging
- the role of prior knowledge or expertise
- the role of task complexity
In addition to these variables, more recently I have included the study of literacy, particularly in the field of health, and the credibility of sources via misinformation.
Keywords: IS; expertise; aging; health literacy; misinformation
Master students interested in these topics may contact me by e-mail.
