Cognition, communication and development
Cognition, communication and development
This axis focuses its work on social cognition development from infancy to adulthood. The scientific objectives are to develop on one hand the work on the development of communication (both from an evolutionary perspective and a developmental pragmatic one), and on the other hand those related to knowledge learning (specifically in sciences, in both formal and informal contexts). Taking the context into account is especially crucial in this perspective for the analysis of interactions between children and / or between child and adult, as well for the comparison of different cultural contexts. Therefore, the theoretical models used as references are constructivist and interactionist models of child development in which cognition is considered a collaborative and social process.
The research in this axis benefit from the implementation of the Baby Lab in new dedicated premises of the Maison de la Recherche.
